SL W113 PAGODA ELECTRICALS & LIGHTS

Mercedes-Benz kept things simple when it came to electrics and lighting in the SL W113 Pagoda. Things remained largely the same throughout production, with changes as small as the addition of a boot/trunk lamp in 1965. A redesigned tail lamp lens and hazard warning lights became standard equipment in August 1969.  Although the US market saw multiple versions of headlamp and tail light assemblies due to regulation changes.  A dozen fuses were all you’d need and many of the cabin instruments and gauges were capillary or cable-driven.

Electrical home comforts in the Mercedes Pagoda cabin included a Becker Europa ‘TG’ Radio head unit (replaced by a ‘TR’ model in 1964), one courtesy light lens shared by driver and passenger and a cigar lighter, if you were lucky, nestled in the centre console.

Mercedes bolted relays for the cold start injector and injection pump solenoid to the inner wing as well as a third for the wiper motor, with the indicator flasher relay, tucked up under the dashboard.

Over time, the electrics and lighting can fail, which is why SLSHOP has expanded its stock to include every part for every car. Owners and restorers will find Heritage instrument dials in their original boxes, speedo cables, Reproduction switches, switch bezels and much more. We stock a variety of replacement headlamps and tail lights, some in their original unopened factory boxing, while others are high-quality Reproduction Mercedes Parts exclusive to SLSHOP.
