MERCEDES-BENZ PAGODA W113 STEERING PARTS

The Mercedes-Benz Pagoda W113 used a recirculating ball steering box with a pitman arm operating a traditional drag link and dual tie rod assembly.  All models came with a hydraulic steering damper as standard, with power steering being a factory option that was ticked on almost all vehicles to have left the factory

In 1967 the steering column’s articulated shaft was replaced with a one-piece assembly that required only one column bearing. The steering wheel, now positioned nearer to the driver, was remodelled, and made collapsible to conform with new crash safety regulations. At the same time, American specification vehicles had the chrome horn ring completed in a matt finish to minimise reflections.

Steering wheels were available in the buyer’s choice of black or ivory bakelite and the chrome signal ring was wrapped around an upholstered centre pad with the Mercedes tristar emblem at its centre. Left and right-hand drive variations of the SL had the indicator stalk always nearest the door, with the ignition and steering lock on the opposite side nearer the centre of the dashboard.

SLSHOP stocks a variety of components to rebuild or replenish the aesthetics of your steering system. From new steering wheels in the original ivory finish, thrust pressure steering links and Mercedes-Benz Pagoda W113 ignition switches to power pump steering pulleys, our stock is available across different pricing and quality tiers to suit your budget.
