SLSHOP is proud to bring to the market an exciting haul of Genuine old stock Mercedes-Benz SL parts, sourced from a Dutch Pagoda specialist who recently closed their doors after some 30 years in business. This now offers owners and restorers alike the opportunity to source new genuine components where they are otherwise no longer obtainable, even direct from Mercedes.
Well this one kept us guessing! This harness nearly went in the "not a clue what it is" box but, by pure chance, the answer came to us during a completely separate task. This small wiring harness is used during the 'subsequent installation of rear fog lamp'. In other words, if your vintage Mercedes has a free-standing fog lamp on or near the rear bumper, that was installed at the dealer prior to first sale, its odd on that this wiring harness was used. Those of you with access to the Mercedes catalogs will find it in category 82 > SA55988 > item 105. It consists of a 4 pin female 'old timer' connector (only 3 terminals in use), branched on to live and earth eyelets as well as a single pole female bullet connector in plastic housing. Applicable chassis models include the W108, 109, 111 as well as the W 113 SL Pagoda.
This component is an original survivor, not be confused with modern reproductions. Where applicable, these items retain original Mercedes-Benz packaging.
