Mercedes-Benz Convertible Soft Top Fabric Care Kit both cleans and proofs soft top hoods made of fabric, canvas and mohair.
The kit contains Cleaner Concentrate 50 ml / 1.7 fl oz, Soft Top Brush, Protectant Concentrate 100 ml / 3.4 fl oz & Sponge; Sufficient for up-to 3 applications (2-seater)
After cleaning and proofing the soft top is waterproofed and protected against dirt, dust and environmental influences.
It includes an easy to use water based proofer, hence you do not need to cover paintwork and windows, simply wipe off any splashes or dribbles, with the treatment lasting for 6 months before re-application is required.
1. Pre-wash soft top with a soft jet of clear water. If possible use warm water for better cleaning results.
2. Apply some drops of Cleaner Concentrate on the wet soft top. Scrub it with circular motions by using the Soft Top Brush until you get white foam. Leave the cleaner on for 10-20 minutes for difficult soiled areas and repeat the treatment if necessary.
3. Rinse soft top with clean water until no remaining foam from the cleaner is observed.
4. Wait 10-15 minutes until water is drained off. The soft top should not be soaked or too dry. Apply Protectant Concentrate in drops on the humid sponge. Sponge should not be soaked and saturated with protectant. Scrub protectant clockwise from the centre towards the edge. Use protectant sparingly. Wipe off any splashes or dribbles on the paintwork or the glass with a soft cloth.
5. We recommend to dry soft top before you use the car. However it is possible to use and dry it, if you drive slowly. But do not expose to rain or sunlight until it is fully dried. It is also possible to apply protectant after leaving the car wash. In most cases soft top is still humid and ready for application of protectant.
Do not apply the products in direct sunlight! Processing temperature 15-30 °C (59-86 °F)
If cleaner is stored below 20 °C / 68 °F it gets viscous and solid! Worm-up cleaner for thinness
Do not clean partial area! Clean and protect the entire soft top
Cleaning and protecting must be carried out in clean environment. Clean means without pollen, spurs or other pollutions in the air.
Do not use dirty water or rain water! Avoid to use a high-pressure cleaner! If there is no other possibility, use it with distance of approx. 1 m (3-4 foot) or reduce pressure.
